Supporting Network Rail in the delivery of better workplaces for frontline staff
In 2022, Network Rail awarded Centregreat the contract to deliver the ‘Fixing Your Workplace’ programme across Wales. This programme required us to design, construct and maintain built assets (six maintenance delivery units and 54 signal boxes) across the country,
Enabling the re-opening of a critical rail line
In July 2023, Centregreat was commissioned by Amey Infrastructure Wales (AiW) to urgently locate, access and survey a culvert, supplying data for Entry into Service (EIS) documentation and taking remedial action where needed.

River Gwili Underbridge, Network Rail
Centregreat Rail were contracted by Network Rail to refurbish the underbridge crossing the river Gwili, located on the Craven Arms to Llandeilo Junction line (Central Wales Line). The project involved repair works to Network Rail’s single span underbridge. The bridge span was 8m and comprised steel girders with a timber deck supported on masonry abutments.
Reading Train Care Depot, Spencer Group
Centregreat Rail installed and commissioned the MEP at the new wheel lathe facility for the Reading Train Care Depot.
Caerphilly Tunnel, AIW / TfW
Emergency works at Caerphilly Tunnel to manage water ingress through a bespoke design and build solution to prevent flooding of the tunnel.
Adam Street, AIW / TfW
Design and build scheme for development and execution of an acceptable solution to strengthen the underbridge structure so that it can be recommissioned.
Cardiff Central Station, Network Rail
The refurbishment works at this iconic station, the gateway to Wales’ capital city, were undertaken to enhance the passenger experience, whilst retaining the history and extending the life of the station building.
Newport Station Canopy Refurbishments, ABC Electrification
The scope of this project included the canopy cutback and associated works in preparation for the electrification of the rail lines to Cardiff Central Station.
Barry Viaduct Refurbishment, Network Rail
Working as the Principal Contractor, Centregreat Rail delivered refurbishment of the existing viaduct including grit-blasting, painting and steelwork repairs.
