Maintenance

Street Lighting Term Maintenance - Local Authority Contracts.

Centregreat has an excellent track record, delivering Street Lighting Maintenance Contracts from our base in Bridgend in South Wales for over 40 years. Our extensive knowledge and experience in the successful management of these contracts, supported by our skilled work force, permits us to claim our position as a leader in the market place.

We believe that the ability to effectively communicate with our client, both listening to, and understanding the requirements set out within the individual contracts, is fundamental to the success of any contract we run. Delivering the service specifically required by each individual client is paramount and remains our main objective.

Centregreat provides full street lighting maintenance services for; Caerphilly County Borough Council, Newport City Council and Rhondda Cynon Taf. We also perform ‘top up’ services and one-off contracts to a large number of the Local Authorities across Wales including Bridgend, Conwy, Merthyr Tydfil and Neath Port Talbot.

Street Lighting installation

At Centregreat we pride ourselves on our ability to design and install public lighting systems, working with our clients, their consultants, luminaire providers and lighting CMS companies to ensure the best solution for any given area. We also have considerable experience in LED lamp replacements, carrying out multi-million-pound upgrades for a number of clients including Carmarthenshire County Council and Cardiff City Council.

We provide an end-to-end service including column installations, tracking and installing ducting, cabling and reinstatement of the surfaces, all electrical works, testing the new lighting schemes with our clients and when complete, the disconnection and removal of the old lighting scheme.

We are fortunate to have a number of sister companies who can further support our installation works with in-house wider civils, telecommunications and traffic management capabilities. This enables us to deliver the full project; minimising our clients’ need to manage multiple contractors.

We also have, within our fleet, a fully mobile Grundosteer boring system which, gives us the capability to undertaking jobs of a specialist nature (i.e. trench less technology) without our clients having to employ further expensive specialist sub-contractors. A further key benefit to our clients is that this system is less disruptive to traffic, meaning limited requirements in the way of traffic management; reducing cost and improving road safety. The trenchless system has been tailormade as a self-contained unit, this allows us to mobilise the system with very short notice. The trenchless technology has been utilised with great effect on a number of projects and proved particularly successful on the busy A465 trunk road.

Distribution Network Operator (DNO) Connections

We also provide added value through our ability to undertake supply connections for DNOs enabling single site attendance to disconnect, install and connect which significantly reduces the time required in pre-planning and on-site work whilst minimising disruption, risk and potential safety hazards.

New developments

In addition to providing a wealth of public lighting services to our local authority clients, we also deliver full public lighting packages for a vast number of new developments for private sector clients across the UK; housing estates, retail parks, business parks.

We regularly work with new housing developers such as Persimmon Homes, David Wilson Homes, Bellway Homes and Barretts whilst also delivering for major civils clients on projects such as Imperial Park, Bristol (retail) and Pentre Mawr Park where we installed a fully operational new exterior lighting system suitable for a youth Skateboard and Muga Park.

Festive lighting

Centregreat Lighting is employed by a number of Local Authorities, not only as their street lighting contractor but also as festive lighting installers, maintainers and suppliers. We have a number of partnerships with leading UK suppliers that enable us to provide impartial information and advice on any festive lighting equipment you may wish to procure and use during the festive season or other celebratory events.

We also offer a large range of affordable outdoor street lighting concepts for the Christmas season, including large Christmas trees plus dressing, LED rope lighting, net lights, festive garlands, and much more. If you are contemplating putting your festive or celebration lighting out to contract or have a requirement for a new lighting contact, we would be happy to assist.

Parking technology

In addition to lighting and its associate technology, Centregreat also installs parking technology from Pay on Foot parking meters to electrical supplies for parking bay sensors. We provide this service to public and private sector clients across the UK, most notably the recent scheme for Cardiff City Council where we have installed the electrical supplies to enable 3300 Smarter Parking sensors to be installed across the city. We are also working with clients and suppliers to install EV charging infrastructure as this area continues to grow.
